Like the safety orange - exactly as advertised.
Cutting it to 40 foot lengths takes a little time, in that I burn the ends to seal, but need to pull out the metal strand an inch, cut it, and then retract it. then I have a smooth end to melt together. But well worth the extra few minutes.
Shimmering mixture of Ranger Green and Coyote / Black creates a rugged yet sutbtle outdoor texture. An added bonus is that these color variations allow you to see directional information while tying (or untying) knots. Also bought a bracelet in the same style!
I purchased a spool, because I found myself using it for more then just bushcrafting, and for not "just in case" situations. Use it for tie downs In my truck, hanging plants outside. Had a section of wood fencing come down, during a storm.(6X8 section) just went outside, lashed it up with the survival cord, then was able to permanently fix... (Alone) so yeah, a spool for the home. J.I.C.!
Have not had the opportunity to use this yet I will say it surprised me when it showed up so fast. That tells me a lot about a company.
We use some of the 100ft lengths to make some antennas for communicating on HF (40M, 20M, 15M, 6M, 2M & 70CM). Worked very well. We put up to 40W through the wire with no issues. Not going to try to run 100W as the wire is 30AWG. We are also looking to make a 160M loop antenna with this spool and for radials for other antennas. KY4BDP
