Lion Heart Paracord Bracelet

Discover how to make a lion heart sinnet paracord bracelet in this video presented by Tying It All Together (TIAT). Inspired by a focus on the edges of ties, rather than their central structures, the Lion Heart paracord bracelet is yet another example of the vast design opportunities Fusion Knotting provides.

For this project you will need one 4’ section of paracord and one 6’ long section. The first thing to do is make the overhand knot loop. Beginning at the middle of the two cords, with the short cord on top, cross the ends of the short cord over the long cord. The long cord should be going through the center of the loop you just created with the short cord.

Cross the long cords over the cross of the short cords, but perpendicular to the short cords. At this point you should have a loop at the top that was created by the first cord. Make it so the loop is facing you with its working ends on the left and right, to the outside of the long cords.

Take the right working cord of the short cord and cross it over the long cords in the center and to the left, creating a loop on the right side. Take the left working cord of the short cord and work it over the right cord, behind the two long cords, and then through the loop on the right side from back to front. Tighten the knot down leaving a ½” loop at the top.

The next step is to create the Lion Heart Sinnet. Flip the piece upside down so that the loop is at the bottom, and the working cords are flowing to their respective sides with the long cords on top. Take the long working cord on the right and create a loop by twisting the cord over itself.

Create a bite with the long working cord on the left close to the looped end. Put the bite through the loop on the right side about ½” and tighten the loop that was on the right down onto the bite. This creates a new loop to work with.

Now take the short working cord on the left and cross it to the right over the long working cord of the right side. Holding the short working cord in place, create a bite in the long working cord of the right side, and put it through the loop about ½”. Tight the previous loop down onto the new loop.

Take the short working cord from the right and cross it over the top of the long working cord on the left. Create a bite with the long working cord on the left, and put it through the loop, creating a new loop to work with. Repeat this process working from side to side until you reach your desired length sinnet length or run out of cord.

After you have made your last sinnet, take the long working cord on the left side and stick it through the remaining loop towards the right. Do the same thing with the long working cord on the right side, working towards the left. Tighten the loop down to secure the newly created slip knot in place.

Cut the excess working cords of the short cord and melt the remaining ends into the sinnet. Create a double over hand knot with the remaining long working cords not far from the end of the bracelet. Cut the excess cord and melt the remaining ends into the double overhand knot. Your bracelet is now complete!
